What is Personal Care Aide Training

Training that allow you to learn how to appropriately care for individuals in a safe manner. 

You will learn the Knowledge and the skills needed to challenge the CNA state exam for licensure.  .

Employment with At Heart HomeCare is a possible option after you have completed the training and have passed the CNA state exam.  Employment is not guaranteed employment.

What is the difference between CNA and PCA?

1.  As a PCA you can take the NC State Exam for CNA and become a CNA by challenging the state exam.

 

2.  Can I work in the Hospital and Nursing Homes as a PCA?

No.  You must first take the CNA state exam and then you will be able to work in Hospitals or Nursing Homes. 

3.  Where can I work as a PCA?

With a Homecare Agency or you can do private duty.

4.  Do I have to have a GED or High School Diploma to take the PCA training?

No

5.  Once I take the PCA training, take the state exam for CNA, and then become a CNA, can I then go to nursing school?

Yes, however you must check the reqirement of the nursing school, most of them require the you are a CNA be for registering.

 

6.  What is the difference between the PCA training and the CNA training?

The PCA training is at a lower cost than CNA training.  Minimal requirements.

 

7.  Will I be ready to pass the NC CNA state exam after taking the PCA training?

Yes

 

8.  Dress Code: Do I have to wear uniforms to class?

No,  However if you have uniforms we recommend the you wear them to class. Other wise just come to class comfortable.  Ready to demonstrate the skills part of class.  Wearing shoes with a non-slip grip.

 

9.  Do I get a certificate when I am done with the class?

Yes, that is after you past the class with at least a 75%.

 

10.  If my CNA license have expire, do you have a refresher class that I can take?

Yes, you have to be consulted with the director to choose the right refresher course that is tailored to you needs. 

 

11.  What is the price of the PCA training?

$299 including the Class, Book and CPR.
